Memory Foam for your booty

Deluxe Memory Foam Ottoman $35

Overstock currently has the Deluxe Memory Foam Cube Ottoman, which retails for $47.99, for $34.99. It is available in seven colors and is well reviewed with 4.5 out of 5 stars from over 600 reviews. Shipping is $2.95 and there is no tax (except UT).

This is completely OT but I was reading my goodle reader this morning and found on bradsdeals that there is a sale on Deluxe Memory Foam Ottomans. No I don't need this but it got me thinking...who needs memory foam for their butt? We use something similar at my moms house when there are a lot of people over as a seat. Why do I need this ottoman to remember my butt impression? And even if most people use it for something else like a foot rest, portable tray holder, or whatever...why will they need the ottoman to have memory foam? I bet if they just make it a normal ottoman without the damn memory foam it will be a lot less expensive than almost $50 when it's not on sale. Just a thought...

Hiiiiii Dada

I recently blogged about Nolan saying "hhhiiiii". Well this past week Nolan started saying Da-da. If you ask me what Nolan's first word was I would say "da-da", even though "hhhiiiii" came well before da-da. But I was sure that babies are supposed to say da-da first and clearly when Nolan has said hhhiiii in the past I was just hearing things. Well yesterday we thought Nolan said, "hhhhiiiii da-da". I was sure that wasn't correct so I shrugged it off. This morning Dennis went and woke Nolan up.....
Dennis: Hiiiii Nolan.
Nolan: Hiiiii Da-da.
And then Nolan said it again later on in the morning after he ate. I've got to say....I gave birth to a genius.

Long time no blog...

Well as always things get busy around here, quick! Dennis and I have both been working constantly and the sight of my home can prove it. Nolan is now....somewhere in the 7 month zone. I never really know how old he is, terrible right? But once you become a mom you have to think in terms of weeks and months and things just get confusing. Maybe that's only me though. I had the same problem when I was pregnant with the trimesters and the months. It's much easier to just go by weeks. Thank god for my weekly parenting emails that let me know what month and what week in that month my child is or I would never know. I think I saw an email today and it said "Welcome to month 7: week 3". I guess that means Nolan is a week away from 8 months? That can't be right...damn I suck at this. Just like I said -- he's in the 7 month zone!

Apparently by now a lot of children are making those steps to crawl. Not Nolan. No no no. Nolan never liked his stomach facing the floor in any manner and never did well with tummy time and because of that has not rolled over very much. So my guess is he will never crawl, ever. Nolan is great at sitting up and mastered that over a weekend with mommy, but that's it. If Nolan is on the floor playing he either wants to be sitting up or laying on his back (while doing crunches to try to sit up). Lets just say he does actually get all the way to rolling over on his stomach, the water works start almost immediately. I'm really fine with him taking his time with this because I know once he is crawling it's a whole 'nother ball game for the parents.

Other than the sitting up and non-crawling, Nolan has started to wave, says "hhhhiiii" in a very soft drawn out way, and DANCES. Nolan will wave at just about anything since clearly he doesn't know what it means. This afternoon he waved to the TV and then the TV waved back. It's so great to see him interacting with the world. The best thing is the dancing. Sure it's not worthy of a top 5 spot on SYTYCD but damn near. This morning I put his iPod (did I just say his iPod, clearly I mean mine but it's been set up on his room on the docking station for lullabies) on and switched from his folder of lullabies to my college folders that house Blue October, Third Eye Blind, and Ben Folds Five to name a few. We danced for a while and it was so perfect. I love seeing him smile and dance. I even dipped him a few times.

Other things that Nolan is doing nowadays (basically not as cool things that I'm just writing down for my memories)--
*blowing bubbles with his tongue (there is a more scientific name for this but I can't think of it right now)
*"talking" and sometimes "singing"
*started sitting in his big boy bath seat and loves it with all of the toys floating around
*is now on stage 2 foods and almost to puffs and stage 3!

PS: STILL NO TOOTH!!

Big Boy, Crying Mommy

We are taking Nolan shopping today for some 9 month old clothes because clearly when you have a baby everyone wants to buy you the cute clothes that they really only fit in to for a week (actually, Nolan stayed in his newborn clothes for quite some time due to issues with weight gain). When Nolan started growing out of his newborn clothes and went to 3 month clothes I had a terrible time with this. I cried and begged my son to stop growing so fast because it was all just passing me by. When Nolan went from 3 months to 6 month clothes I didn't cry, have a mental breakdown, or panic attack. So I thought I was finally far from the blubbering, crying, idiot mom that I had become at any sign of my baby moving towards adulthood. I thought that until today. I told Dennis to change Nolan into one of his 9 month old outfits to see how they are fitting so we know what size of clothes to buy today. Dennis did so and there was my baby...in a 9 month outfit...which fit PERFECTLY. I bawled. Dennis tried another one ( I was secretly hoping that the first one was really a 6 month old outfit and someone just put the wrong tag on it). Well the second outfit, fit perfectly as well. What the H*LL? Just in case you were not correctly informed, my son is only 7 months old. NOT 9 MONTHS. I do believe 7 months is a lot closer to 6 months than 9 months.

It is definitely painful to watch the human being that you helped create and grew in your tummy go from 7lbs to 20 something lbs right before your eyes. He used to have wrinkles and now he just has fat roll wrinkles. He used to have dark brown hair and now it's blonde. His little ears were all wrinkled together and now they are all human like. He used to wear swaddlers diapers and was swaddled at night. Now he wears cartoon character diapers and just kicks the blankets off of himself.

But you better believe I love those fat rolls, blonde hair, human ears, and diapers with cartoon characters (well not as much).

Coat? What Coat?

Just FYI.....

It's 45 degrees in Florida right now and near 20 mph winds.

You might just see me and Nolan walking around with blankets wrapped around us, several of them. We don't own coats. Why would we own coats? We live in FLORIDA. I think I should have bought those Snuggies over the holidays...oops.
