Squealing baby

Wow, I really haven't posted in forever. Dennis started working on our computer room floors a little over a week ago. They are finally down and now I have my computer back with lovely flooring beneath my feet. There are still a few things to fix, a small area to paint (although our next project is to re-paint the entire computer room), put base boards back down, put closet doors back on (although I kind of like it without the doors), and put a very small area of boards down.

My little bean is doing really well and is growing so fast! This morning Nolan started squealing when he smiles! I think he is finally catching up to where she should be developmentally. I just put him in his rocker and he is finally reaching for toys and I swear he is dancing to my aol radio music that is on...of course Nolan loves Lady Gaga! He is "dancing" so much he is actually rocking himself. This is a far cry from the days of maternity leave when Nolan would sit in his rocker, force me to rock the rocker for him while I try to type, and spit his binky out at me in hopes to knock one of my teeth out...or give me a bloody nose like his cousin Greta does to her mommy.

Speaking of...HAPPY BIRTHDAY COUSIN GRETA! We all love you and can't wait to meet you! Miss Greta just turned the big ONE, yay!

Daycare is going much better and Nolan is finally able to take naps there. Phew! I do notice that Nolan has a habit of coming home with clothes, burp cloths, and sometimes even diapers that are not his. I'm not freaking out over this anymore and think it's exciting that my son is stealing other children's belongings so that he may have more clothes and such. He loves his mommy!

OH!! And....Nolan is forming dimples on his cheeks. I LOVE IT! Now I just want to kiss and pinch his cheeks even more.

Everyday I find it amazing how my love grows daily for this little man. I can't explain it in words and I know I'll never be able to. He is the most amazing person I have EVER met in my life!

New Bloggy Name and the Snot Bandit

Well I went ahead and changed the name of my blog. I decided that I was no longer trying to survive the end of my pregnancy and becoming a new mommy. Well...the last part is still true but I am definitely not pregnant anymore... hallelujah. I think the new name fits, what do you think?

Tomorrow Nolan is going back to daycare, boo hoo! He is finally feeling mostly better with a little congestion still hanging around but no fever. This is the first time Nolan has been sick and I never realized why parents "cleaned" their children's noses with their bare hands until a friend asked me if I do it. I of course told my friend that I definitely do not do that and felt almost offended that she even asked. Until...I got home that night and noticed Nolan had a little snot running out of his nose and for some odd reason I took my finger to his nose and rubbed his snot off. Did I just do that? Do all parents do that? What was I thinking? Those thoughts lasted until the next time I saw a booger or snot under my bean's nose and did it again. Wow, I'm a repeat offender! Oh well, it is what it is and I don't really care if I am the only person on this planet that does that. Of course, I would feel a tiny bit better if I knew others did that as well...anyone?

Well, today I had the day off for Veteran's Day.. I absolutely loved being home with my little bean and cuddling with him all day. He was pretty fussy but at least let me sleep until 11am. Then we were up for the day, unless I was cuddling him. Today was pretty uneventful but I love that about motherhood. I love being able to just lay in bed with Nolan cuddled up in my arms sleeping. It's nice to know that I can do that all day if I so please...it's very relaxing. It's also really comforting to know that when Nolan is upset I know what to do to make him instantly calm down...that's such an amazing part of motherhood. Nolan's secret code is laying his chest up against my chest, with his left arm under my arm pit, with me rocking violently on the bed/couch against pillows or cushions...it hurts the heck out of my arm and shoulder, but hey...it calms him and that is all that matters. I've tried to teach Dennis how to rock on the couch or the bed but I swear when he does it, it just looks like he is hitting himself against a hard wall. I secretly enjoy the fact that he can't "do it right" because that means I hold the key to comforting my bean... <3

Snot, Snot, and more Snot

So here we are...14 weeks old and very sick. I say very sick but really it's not much of an illness. But being that this is the first time for Nolan to be sick I am going to act like it's the end of the world and cuddle my bean for hours and hours. Anywho, over the weekend Nolan started sounding a little raspy but yesterday he was complete with fever, coughing, wheezing, snorting, sneezing, drooling, and lots and LOTS of snot. Nolan stayed home with daddy today because mommy was forced to go to her spanish class by the mean boss lady. I didn't even get to go to the doctor with my bean and tell him it's going to be alright. Dr. Corp said if Nolan isn't feeling better by Saturday to bring him in to the office at 8am without an appointment and tell the staff that Dr. Corp said to bring him in, i heart our pedi (even though some people apparently think he is the devil, but that is another place and another time). Nolan got some grape medicine and all is well, I hope. Dennis said he did better today but as soon as I got home from work all I heard was the same stuffy-ness. Nolan is even hoarse when he cries...so sad!

My poor stinky butt.... :/

Fall Back

I've never realized until I had Nolan how little time you have in a day. I often find myself coming home from work and barely doing much else other than feeding Nolan. Normal weeks we barely get any laundry done. Thank god Nolan has been given so many outfits because we really can go several weeks without doing laundry...whoops! Today was amazing though with the extra hour. We got several loads of laundry done, our bathroom deep cleaned, the dishes done, some parts of the carpet deep cleaned (thanks to our lovely cat), and cooked dinner. Not to mention we also took a long walk at one of the downtown Orlando parks. It was definitely a great day with the family!
