Long time no blog...

Well as always things get busy around here, quick! Dennis and I have both been working constantly and the sight of my home can prove it. Nolan is now....somewhere in the 7 month zone. I never really know how old he is, terrible right? But once you become a mom you have to think in terms of weeks and months and things just get confusing. Maybe that's only me though. I had the same problem when I was pregnant with the trimesters and the months. It's much easier to just go by weeks. Thank god for my weekly parenting emails that let me know what month and what week in that month my child is or I would never know. I think I saw an email today and it said "Welcome to month 7: week 3". I guess that means Nolan is a week away from 8 months? That can't be right...damn I suck at this. Just like I said -- he's in the 7 month zone!

Apparently by now a lot of children are making those steps to crawl. Not Nolan. No no no. Nolan never liked his stomach facing the floor in any manner and never did well with tummy time and because of that has not rolled over very much. So my guess is he will never crawl, ever. Nolan is great at sitting up and mastered that over a weekend with mommy, but that's it. If Nolan is on the floor playing he either wants to be sitting up or laying on his back (while doing crunches to try to sit up). Lets just say he does actually get all the way to rolling over on his stomach, the water works start almost immediately. I'm really fine with him taking his time with this because I know once he is crawling it's a whole 'nother ball game for the parents.

Other than the sitting up and non-crawling, Nolan has started to wave, says "hhhhiiii" in a very soft drawn out way, and DANCES. Nolan will wave at just about anything since clearly he doesn't know what it means. This afternoon he waved to the TV and then the TV waved back. It's so great to see him interacting with the world. The best thing is the dancing. Sure it's not worthy of a top 5 spot on SYTYCD but damn near. This morning I put his iPod (did I just say his iPod, clearly I mean mine but it's been set up on his room on the docking station for lullabies) on and switched from his folder of lullabies to my college folders that house Blue October, Third Eye Blind, and Ben Folds Five to name a few. We danced for a while and it was so perfect. I love seeing him smile and dance. I even dipped him a few times.

Other things that Nolan is doing nowadays (basically not as cool things that I'm just writing down for my memories)--
*blowing bubbles with his tongue (there is a more scientific name for this but I can't think of it right now)
*"talking" and sometimes "singing"
*started sitting in his big boy bath seat and loves it with all of the toys floating around
*is now on stage 2 foods and almost to puffs and stage 3!

PS: STILL NO TOOTH!!
