Songs

Even with everything that's going on in my life I must admit I've been pretty strong through all of this. There are moments of days that I find myself beyond shocked and I grieve all over again but for the most part I go on with my day. I find a lot of comfort in songs and their lyrics. It's almost like a therapy for me. I listen to the Damien Rice channel on Pandora and have started a list of songs that I can relate to the feelings I'm going through right now.Tonight the song, "Falling Slowly" was added, by The Swell Season. In beginning of the youtube video posted below, Glen Hansard of the group explains the meaning behind the song, "it's about trying to fix something that's broken and if you can't fix it then wishing it well and sending it on it's way". That's what I'm trying to do. This is happening and I have to stop grieving that this is happening to us. It's already happened, now I have to figure out the best way to deal with it and not let it break me. I love you little boy...

The Swell Season- Falling Slowly

Lyrics...

I don't know you but I want you
All the more for that
And words fall through me
And always fool me and I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You've made it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along
